About – Essential Kitchen Design

Process

Our innovative, studio-led process to resolving kitchen design prior to construction.

Essential Kitchen Design approaches kitchen design as a distinct and considered stage within a project.

By distilling traditional bespoke methodology into a defined, online process, we provide a clear and efficient way to engage expert kitchen design — without the overhead or complexity of full-service studio models.

This process is structured to support clarity, confident decision-making, and seamless collaboration with those who build.

01

Alignment

The process begins with alignment.

This initial call is used to understand the project context, confirm suitability, and ensure a dedicated design stage is the right fit.

It is not a design session, and no solutions are developed at this stage.

02

Online Brief Collection

Following alignment, project information is collected online.

This stage gathers the details required to develop the kitchen design with clarity and accuracy, including your space details, appliance selections, ergonomic requirements and material preferences.

All information is reviewed prior to design commencement to ensure the design process is informed, efficient, and focused from the outset.

03

Design & Issue

The kitchen design is developed and issued by our expert designers as a complete, standalone design package.

Working entirely online, the design is resolved prior to construction and developed to a level suitable for quoting, coordination, and build. The issued design can be taken directly to a builder, cabinet maker, or trade professional for delivery.

This stage concludes the core design engagement.

The Design Issue

Each project is issued as a complete kitchen design package, including plans, elevations, materials and perspectives - developed to a standard suitable for quoting and conveying design intent.

After Issue

Once the design has been issued, it can be taken directly to build.

If you are a cabinet maker, builder or maker - you can present the issue to your clients.

If further development or revisions are required, these can be accommodated separately, subject to scope, availability, and additional fixed fees.

Next Step

If this process feels appropriate for your project, the next step is a brief alignment call.

The call is offered at no cost and without obligation. Its purpose is to determine suitability and alignment only — it is not a design session.
